Burials Archaeology is a specialist service offered by JMHS. We have been involved in a large number of watching briefs, evaluations and full-scale excavations of burial grounds from Bronze Age barrows to post-medieval churchyards.
We offer an integrated, focused and flexible approach to funerary archaeology and burial ground excavation, utilising only trained archaeologists with a diversity of fieldwork experience. The core staff includes specialist osteoarchaeologists who offer valuable on-site expertise and guidance in both the excavation and analysis of human remains.
Reports include the medieval and post-medieval church of St. Mary's, Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire; the Late Iron Age-Roman cemetery recorded at the site of the former Bernwood School, Barton, Oxford, and the medieval and post-medieval churchyard of St. Neot Parish Church, Cornwall.
